This is Desmond when he was still a child, I call him baby Desmond to differentiate him from his adult self. During this time his mother was still learning how to be a vampire so he was mostly raised by his human father and his mother's sire. His fathers being complete opposites of each other means Desmond has a love for metal music and clothes with holes but he also has full knowledge of table etiquette and is clasically trained on the piano.
Baby Desmond is usually with Roy, his actual father, during the day and with his mother's sire (who I haven't named yet) during the evenings. Roy would prefer that the sire has no involvement in any of their lives but unfortunately Roy doesn't know anything about vampirism and is broke as a joke so he has to rely on the sire to help support Desmond financially and to teach him how to manage Desmond's vampire traits. Roy teaches him how to play guitar, how to throw a ball, how to ride a bike, all the typical dad things and they are extremely close. The sire tutors Desmond, enrolls him in cotillion, teaches him piano, and proper etiquette. Desmond also really likes him. Baby Desmond is an interesting child to say the least. His outward appearence is chaotic, mismatched shoes, shirts with holes in them, chain belts, etc. Clothes that make his elementary school teachers cringe on the first day of school, but the sire's influence he has very good manners and an "old soul" way of speaking. Since Desmond is a dhampir he is sensitive to the sun and spent most of his recesses inside with the teachers making them origami cranes or reciting Edgar Allen Poe to them. This slightly offputting, yet endearing, behavior usually ends up charming his teachers and he becomes their favorite student by the end of the school year. hide.
